Storage Assessment
Before you can successfully implement a storage solution, you need to assess
how well your information technology infrastructure meets your business needs.
Structured uses a proven methodology to examine your existing environment
and processes, and to provide a road map for future needs. When Structured
evaluates your storage infrastructure, we will look at:
Current Environment—We determine the current size and expected
growth of your environment. Then we find out how your application
environment will grow. We also establish whether you store mostly
structured data (e.g.databases) or unstructured data (e.g., files,
images, video). Finally, we assess the impact of data loss on your
customers, employees and suppliers.
Backup Operations—Structured carefully examines your processes,
such as how well your IT disaster recovery plan is defined and
implemented, and how well your backup and recovery processes
are defined and implemented. Additionally, we assess the extent to
which your personnel can execute these processes effectively. It’s
also important to find out the extent to which backups affect your
production systems.
Recovery Performance—We evaluate your defined service level
expectations for backup frequency and recovery performance.
Structured helps you determine your recovery point objectives,
recovery time objectives and the impact of data loss on your
business. Additionally, we examine your email system and mailbox
recovery capabilities.
Following our analysis, we deliver you an assessment document that details our
findings and the solutions that we recommend for maintaining your information
integrity. Our consultants will then present the findings to your company’s key
members to illustrate how properly designed and managed storage aligns the
business value of data with the cost of storing it.
