Whilst working on VoIP many years ago, Ed was discouraged by the quality of the voice calls. At first, he found a work-around by limiting voice traffic to the LAN, which provides quality of service, and later to private WAN networks, especially MPLS. However, as voice and videoconferencing moved to the cloud, the quality issue again reared its ugly head, resulting in garbled speech and jittery images.
